then look away. I am flooded with shame.....doubt.....regret.
My nerves hum red.
Rubbed raw by your indifference.
Humiliated by what you saw.
Wounded by what you didn't.
I reach for anything to cover myself.
Wish so hard that I could take it back.
Eyes down so you won't see shame.....doubt.....regret.
My tears betray me.
Down my chest to die alone on the floor.
I shove the tears back.
Breathe deep my wounded pride.
Wrap ot around me like a cloak. I stand before you shielded.

All concealed from you.
The remnants of my heart well hidden.....
